Stranded

So, did you see the Fun Cat that was pictured in the Mission Bay Video below? So we were staying at the Catamaran Hotel in Mission Beach, down in San Diego and Bill thought it would be fun to go out on the water. After discussing the variety of options, which were limited when we realized that neither of us knew how to drive a boat or sail, we settled on the Fun Cat, which is like a floating lounge chair with a motor. Truly, a wonderful invention! It seats two, three if you have a toddler, and there are buttons on the armrest that you push to drive it around. Simple as that. So, we load everyone up, JW included and head out into the bay. Now, I'm a bit concerned that we are going to get out in the bay and my toddler is going to decide he wants off right then and there, but he is completely entranced with the buttons. So, we put him in charge of driving. It was so fun and relaxing for the first 20 minutes....that is until the motor stopped working.

Do you get the picture? Out floating in the bay, no one nearby, toddler in lap, toddler frustrated that "boat" won't go, no way to move.......HELP!!!

But of course there was no need to panic, because my husband would NEVER, EVER go anywhere without his cell phone, not even the water...THANK GOD!
Now, I have cursed him and that phone at least a thousand times, but today I was very, very, happy that he had it with him. One phone call and they came and towed us in with the boat, which John William just thought was part of the fun.

After all of that, I still HIGHLY recommend this motorized lounge chair. You have to try one of these things just make sure that they have FULLY charged the battery before heading out into the wild blue.
