Unexpected Visitor

Now, I like surprises...really, I do. But I much prefer them to be wrapped in pretty paper and tied with a nice bow. Instead of pretty package, I found this lovely, little lizard hanging out on the rug of our playroom. John William had just got up from his nap and we were headed to the kitchen, when out of the corner of my eye I see him all sprawled out on the floor. He wasn't moving at all and my mind was racing, trying to remember if we had a rubber lizard. Nope, we don't. No choice but to catch him before the dogs did. I don't really mind these guys, but I rather not handle them. Believe me, I'm no Crocodile Dundy, but I was proud to have caught him on the first try.
John William really enjoyed checking him out and I think he thought he was going to be staying with us, like in the the house. Oh, no, no, no....he may be fascinating but he will NOT be living inside of our house. When we let him go OUTSIDE, John Will asked if we could get another one. I quickly side tracked by offering ice cream, which worked today but I get the feeling that I'm going to have to start checking that boy's pockets after he's been outside to make sure he's not sneaking some new "friend" into the house.
