A New Year

I've never been big on New Year's resolutions but this year I felt like I needed to make some changes. While struggling to organize the new toys that arrived during the holidays, the toy room is filled to the brim. It was very evident that my child could not want for another thing and the closet couldn't hold another item! I've also been thinking about how thankful I am that we have the ability to provide John William with such fun things but also how incredibly blessed I am to be able to stay home with my son. I'm so grateful that my husband has a job that allows me to have this special time with the little guy...I probably don't thank him enough for that. (Bill, if you are reading this..thank you, thank you, thank you!) I just can't believe how fast the time goes and how they change. Soon he will be in school!! So, I've decided that this year will be about creating wonderful memories and experiences. We are on a quest to check out all that California has to offer. We don't take advantage of all the wonderful things to do and the beautiful weather enough. So, I'm on a mission. And we are off to a pretty good start. We've took a day trip to Disneyland, found a great new park, played at Balboa Park, watched trains at the Model train museum... when the weather was cold and rainy we hit the indoor jumpy place. I'm having just as much fun researching new places as I am exploring them. I'm determined to make better use of the passes we buy for the museums and amusement parks. You always think that you are going to go more often than you do. We have so much fun once we get there, but getting motivated to get there is the hard part! I started thinking about how lucky we are to get these cheap passes..I know many people that Disneyland is a once in a lifetime trip, and an expensive one at that. I can go 215 days out of the year for free...now, why am I sitting at home? So, we off.... If you have any suggestions of a great place to go or want to join us, we'd love to hear from you.
