After we hit the pumpkin patch, we went to John Will's first day of T-ball practice. John Will and I have been practicing at home lately and so when I asked him if he wanted to play on a team, he was all for it. He has really great eye-hand coordination, so this should be a lot of fun for him.
There are about 25 kids signed up to play every Saturday and this week they were divided into 4 teams. John Will is number 1 on the Yankees. (As you can see they get uniform shirts and hats) All of these kids are between 4-5 years old, so it's their first exposure to playing the game. They got to play a practice inning on Saturday and I nearly wet my pants it was so funny. Most of the boys weren't sure where to run, some tried to field their own balls. It was just sooo cute! John Will ran to pitcher's mound on his way to first base. The batting helmets are so big and heavy on some of these little guys, that they looked like bobble head dolls trying to keep their heads upright. I just have to get some video because words just can't describe.
Anyway, John Will had a great time. I had invited Bill to come watch him play and as it turned out they needed two more coaches, so Bill volunteered to coach JW's team. I'm sure that will be fun for both of them. Games start next week and go through November 21st, so you'll know were to find me on Saturday afternoon...Camera in hand, cheering on my yankee.
