Fern Canyon

Just south of the Oregon border is this amazing place in the redwood national forest called fern canyon. Just inland from the coast, is this canyon with fifty foot walls of ferns. It was breathtaking! When we parked at the trail head, JW was just about asleep and he wanted to be carried to the trail. I was really wondering if we should even attempt a part of the two mile hike or just put him in the car to nap. Well, once he saw the water and the fallen logs and realized you could throw rocks in the stream...he was leading the team and we were just trying to keep up with him. He loved it and I'm so glad that he did. It was such a magical place. To hike through the canyon you continually criss crossed over the stream by way of little bridges, fallen trees, and big boulders. It was a little boy's playground.
