When I was little, we lived just north of Monterey in Salinas, CA. I have a lot of fond memories of going to the beach there as a child, so it was a walk down memory lane to return there. We drove directly from the airport to the beach at lover's point; the same place that I played in the ocean as a child. What a perfect way to start off the trip, watching my son play on the same beach that I so often did when I was young. Sitting on the beach brought back lots of memories and we spent most of that first day reminiscing about my younger days.
We also stopped at the Giant Artichoke in Castorville to pick up deep fried artichoke hearts.
(also an old haunt) Yummmy, yummy!
In all my excitement, I didn't take one darn photo that day....can you believe? I was just so caught up in moment. Don't worry though, I took plenty later to make up for it.
